Cav. Eng. Khaled Abu Bakr is a pioneer in Egypt’s private energy sector. With over 38 years of leadership, he co-founded Taqa Arabia, which has grown into Egypt’s largest private energy distribution company. Khaled is also an investor in a 10 billion cubic meters project aimed at supplying and transporting gas from the Eastern Mediterranean markets to Egypt. He is also the President of the Egyptian Gas & Energy Association (EGEA). Khaled’s influence extends globally as he is currently the Vice President of the International Gas Union and the elected President for the 2028–2030 term, a role that solidifies his international reputation. Educated in Cairo, Montreal, and Harvard, Khaled combines his extensive oil and gas experience with visionary business sense.
